No, my eyesight isn't deteriorating, although that is the reason given to explain why Monet's paintings, in his later years, became so loose and colorful. I am in no way comparing myself to that great Impressionist, but I am continuing to explore using globs of paint to suggest an image rather than define it. This forces me to not only work quickly, but also to not linger over the details, which has always been difficult for me. Limiting my palette also forces me to simplify, simplify, which is something I need to do in all aspects of my life....
The garden has not washed away as it did last year, despite torential rains and threats of tornados. Spuds are doing well, ahead of everything else, and corn, beans and peas are all searching for the sun, which is abundant today.
All three cows are getting larger daily and I believe Abbey will lead the pack  and calve first. It can't be too soon, either. I did freeze a half dozen gallons of milk before we dried off the cows, but there is nothing like fresh, and although it's nice to take a break from milking, too, I will be happy to resume that chore and fill the frig with cheese and yoghurt and milk again.
Genesis 2:8  Now the Lord God had planted a garden in the east, in Eden; and there he put the man he had formed.
