Our friends, the Hodges, raise Charolais/cross cattle - going against the standard of Black Angus in this part of Texas. Not a black hide in the bunch - but a nicer bunch of calves you'll never see - especially in this severe drought. One reason they look so good is their mamas - mostly BrahmanXHerford cows who sacrifice their own health to wean a fat calf. And in the heat of the day, they'll still be up and grazing - unlike all the black angus cows hiding in the shade. We are still burning up in Texas - no fireworks yesterday except over local lakes and at the Ballpark (where the Rangers smashed the Orioles). Hope you all had a safe and heart warming Independence Day!
Jeremiah 30:17
But I will restore you to health and heal your wounds,’ declares the LORD, ‘because you are called an outcast, Zion for whom no one cares.’
