I haven't posted anything in a while and my family is worried about me!!! To reassure everyone - I am fine - just busy doing farm chores, going camping with our youth group and painting commissions. I did paint this cute Corgi for a precious friend's upcoming birthday (if she reads this, it won't be a surprise, will it!?)  The doggie's name is Sugar and they went camping with us recently. Sugar is VERY camera shy - the moment she sees or hears a camera, she is gone. But I DID get her to smile at me once!

Georgia, the Border Collie-Wanna-Be is part Corgi, and one of her best friends is Max, a Bembroke Welsh Corgi who has the absolute best personality for a short dog. Max belongs to Tessa, and Tessa has a sister who has two Corgis. She doesn't know it yet, but she's getting the above painting for her birthday in March, via sister Tessa (who assures me that she DOESN'T go to my blog!)
I'm not near as familiar with dog painting as I am horses, but I am learning. I tried once to paint my little dog Kibble (blond Pomeranian) and I failed miserably. Maybe I am ready to try again.....

While my friend Tessa was out of town for Christmas, we cared for one of her dogs - Max.
Max is a Pembroke Welsh Corgi and one of Georgia's good friends. I couldn't resist taking pictures of the two of them in the snow. Max is originally from California, so I doubt he's seen much of it - and neither has Georgia, for that matter. Both dogs enjoyed a romp after establishing that it wasn't dangerous.
I haven't painted much over the holidays, but Max's handsome face was an inspiration.
Now back to the book cover commission!
