I have owned horses for over 25 years - not yet half my life, but nearly! And I have only owned one I promised never to sell - Miss Jack.
These two mares are daughter and dam - PJ and Miss Jack. Miss Jack was a wonderfully trained cutting horse with a lovely disposition. She was put down last summer at the age of 21 and I miss her terribly. Her daughter, PJ, is a lot of fun, too, and is expecting a foal any day now.
Both horses lived with cattle all their lives and enjoyed working them as much as I did. I often would find the two of them contemplating the calves as if they were thinking about "practicing", and I occasionally would catch Miss Jack cutting and herding them on her own. She would even go round up the whole herd and bring them to the corral - not on command, of course, but still entirely on her own!
