Violet Donkey Morning

8X8 oil on mounted canvas
SOLD
New take on donkey image - again limiting the palette and staying with the violets with a touch of cad yellow for the light. And for those who love turquoise, a bit of that, too!
I am spending time between painting, farm chores and trips to Dallas.
My mom has been in and out of the hospital following colon resection surgery to remove a tumor. After 3 weeks and 3 days, she is finally out of pain and beginning to eat and regain her strength. She is still in the  nursing re-hab facility, but I expect her to go home shortly where we will set up some kind of care-giving and day-to-day help for her. Right now our goal is to simplify her life and make her home easy to get around in. AND get her doggie back to her!
Kaydee is a Maltese/Poodle and weighs about 3 pounds. However, she has become queen of my house and has soundly told Trudy-the-German-Shepherd where to go and how long to stay there.
2 Samuel 7:10
And I will provide a place for my people Israel and will plant them so that they can have a home of their own and no longer be disturbed. Wicked people will not oppress them anymore, as they did at the beginning

Left Out 5 - series by Debbie Grayson Lincoln

6 X 12 oil on mounted canvas
Check with artist for availability
Most artists are accustomed to being viewed as a bit different, abnormal or even weird. I don't consider myself weird or abnormal, but I'll admit to being different and at times a loner. Most of the time I am happy with just myself for company. It's not that I don't like people, it's more that I have found ways to entertain myself that don't require companionship.
Both my children were like that when they were small. I could put them in their playpen with a few blocks or puzzles or toy cars and they could entertain themselves for hours.
This series of paintings that I have titled "Left Out" are reflections on the reasons for the horse being separated from the group...is it forced or by choice?

Do not be misled: “Bad company corrupts good character.”

Duckin' the Loop - calf roping painting by Debbie Grayson Lincoln

8 X 10 Oil on Canvas
$150 includes shipping and insurance in US
Painting with a palette knife is a real challenge - and for someone who USED to love detail, it can also be frustrating. But the textures I can get make the whole process fun and spontaneous.
I always write my blog with my family members in mind - this is how many of them find out what's new here on the farm.
The four turkeys chicks are down to three (I suspect 2 toms and a hen), thanks to Trudy "helping" to catch one last week. Oops.
Bugs are eating nearly everything in the garden - but the onions are spectacular.
Abbey is gestating nicely, with her calf due July 19.
Trudy, the German Shepherd, is now a year old and no longer confined to her crate when we leave for a few hours. So far she hasn't eaten the couch.
The biggest news is my mom is recovering from colon resection surgery and is slowing regaining her appetite and her strength. We are keeping her little teeny dog, Kaydee, and she has assumed role of boss dog. So far the disputes have been minimal with Kaydee always getting in the last word. Most of these past several weeks have been spent caring for Mom and her house. She is at a re-hab nursing home right now, and we are hopeful she will return to her own home soon.

#46 How Now Green Cow

6 X 8 Oil on MDF Panel
$125 includes shipping and insurance US
Had to do one with weird color. The others are surreal enough, but this one is truly odd! And since I was so inspired, I set up the time lapse camera, too. I love/hate filming timelapses. Love them because I am committed to finishing a painting within 2 hours. Period. Hate them because I HAVE to finish a painting in two hours. No doggie interruptions, no phone calls, no potty breaks. The program I use is in the camera and I cannot stop and re-start it without ANOTHER program to splice the individual segments together. I do not have that program. I think it is expensive. I enjoy making do.

Luke 7:25
If not, what did you go out to see? A man dressed in fine clothes? No, those who wearexpensive clothes and indulge in luxury are in palaces.
