Karla's "Tank" - Boston Terrier portrait - Debbie Grayson Lincoln

9 X 12 Oil on mounted canvas panel
SOLD
I have been commissioned to paint a number of pet portraits over the years - some from living animals and some from those who are no longer here to bring us joy. This handsome fellow, Tank, unfortunately is no longer here, but his owner, Karla, did have several good photos for me to work with. The position of his body in the photo we chose begged me place him standing on an edge looking up. I changed the perspective only slightly to reduce the foreshortening a bit, did a quick sketch for Karla's approval and the rest was easy. This adorable pooch was a joy to paint.

Luke 7:3-5

New Living Translation (NLT)
When the officer heard about Jesus, he sent some respected Jewish elders to ask him to come and heal his slave. So they earnestly begged Jesus to help the man. “If anyone deserves your help, he does,” they said, “for he loves the Jewish people and even built a synagogue for us.”
