Left Out

8 X 3.75 inches $100
Includes shipping and insurance nodp

Four Arabian mares in a pasture - one seems to always be apart from the group - whether by choice or by force, it's hard to tell. But we have all been there. I plan to paint this one large - 24 X 12 at least. As small as this painting is, I painted it with a relatively wide brush and I would like to do the larger one the same way. There is something freeing about forcing yourself NOT to be able to do the details - very much like going without makeup for weeks at a time - which is something I do when we go camping. That's very "freeing", too, but then I don't have to look at ME!

Jeremiah 40:4
But today I am freeing you from the chains on your wrists. Come with me to Babylon, if you like, and I will look after you; but if you do not want to, then don't come. Look, the whole country lies before you; go wherever you please.

Losing Edges

SOLD to a California collector
8 X 6 Oil on Masonite $115

Includes shipping and insurance

Color and action SHOULD be easy to capture in a running red horse - you would think! I am playing around with paint and trying out some new techniques and colors. I am also about to try some new painting grounds that were suggested to me by fellow artist, Kathy Tate of Stephenville. So I'm trying to use up all the masonite and canvas boards I already have prepared. I probably won't like everything I attempt, but to do nothing teaches me nothing. I will post it all, good and not-so-good.

Isaiah 48:17
This is what the LORD says— your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: "I am the LORD your God, who teaches you what is best for you, who directs you in the way you should go.

This animal is just too nice to quit painting. This time from the other side with his closest shoulder forward, a different background and slightly smaller. On 3/4 inch canvass with painted sides, wired and ready to hang.

I will probably continue with this series for a while and also the rodeo roping events series. I am coming down to a deadline where I need everything completed so I can frame them in time to go to some galleries. I really prefer to varnish them, too, which is REALLY hard to do safely with oils. I have varnished paintings that I thought were fully dried and made a total mess. But that's better than accidentally spraying adhesive on them, like one of the Daily Painters did! Ouch.

2 Corinthians 5:8
We are confident, I say, and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord.

Fuzzy Arabian Dream

11 X 12 Oil on flat canvas $100
Includes shipping and insurance
No, your monitor is not out of focus - I "fuzzed" this painting on purpose. I was frustrated with the original working and took a large brush to it for fun. After it dries, I'm going to go back and add a few specific details and see what evolves. Stay tuned. OR if you like it as is, let me know and I will stop......
My spring is getting quite busy. I have 2 gallery shows in April and a show in Granbury for the entire month of May at the Lake Granbury Visitor's Center. ALSO if you take Western Art Collector's Magazine, look for my ad in the April issue. Fellow Daily Painter, Laurie Pace and I have reserved a full page. This issue features Texas artists, so we figured it would be a good time to take the plunge. Don't ask me how much it costs - let's just say it's a good thing I like beans and rice, and my Mom is a great cook and loves to share!!!!
Proverbs 16:19
Better to be lowly in spirit and among the oppressed than to share plunder with the proud.
