Then the watchman saw another runner, and he called down to the gatekeeper, “Look, another man running alone!” The king said, “He must be bringing good news, too.”

My paintings lately have had a sense of urgency and my life has reflected it as well, it seems. Unlike most of those in charge, I do not think this country is going to recover for a long, long time from this ridiculous run-away spending spree. We cannot borrow our way into prosperity - neither as a people or a country - and to believe or "feel" any way different is pure ignorance.
What happens if you keep charging everything you WANT on a credit card and don't live on what you make? You go bankrupt - and yes, a country CAN go bankrupt. And we are on the edge of it now, and the cliff is crumbling. I don't usually politicize my blog, but I cannot help but feel compelled to express my opinion on this. The politicians - ALL of them - Republican AND Democrats - have mortgaged this country beyond what we can EVER pay back. And just like people who use credit cards with no way of ever paying it back, they have done the same -borrowing from every nation on the planet. I consider that criminal theft, and my children and grandchildren will have to suffer the consequences, if they live through it.
Some days I wish I could run away and hide.
John 10:12
The hired hand is not the shepherd who owns the sheep. So when he sees the wolf coming, he abandons the sheep and runs away. Then the wolf attacks the flock and scatters it.

Fuzzy Arabian Dream
My spring is getting quite busy. I have 2 gallery shows in April and a show in Granbury for the entire month of May at the Lake Granbury Visitor's Center. ALSO if you take Western Art Collector's Magazine, look for my ad in the April issue. Fellow Daily Painter, Laurie Pace and I have reserved a full page. This issue features Texas artists, so we figured it would be a good time to take the plunge. Don't ask me how much it costs - let's just say it's a good thing I like beans and rice, and my Mom is a great cook and loves to share!!!!
Proverbs 16:19
Better to be lowly in spirit and among the oppressed than to share plunder with the proud.

Sunset Lovers
A collector suggested this painting. She said that if she and her husband could be animals, they'd be strong, free and wild Arabians running into the sunset together. I rather liked that imagery and had fun assembling it.
I've been using a lot of Cad Red and Orange lately - fiery skies and sunsets. I have been in contact with other Daily Painters that feel as I do about the rising economic crisis and it's beginning to be reflected in my art. It's hard to paint sweet and safe when there's a storm raging outside.
Jeremiah 25:32
This is what the LORD Almighty says: "Look! Disaster is spreading from nation to nation; a mighty storm is rising from the ends of the earth."
